Week 2 of the NFL season is officially in the books after Monday Night’s double-header came to a close. We had a handful of insanely close finishes with dramatic wins and losses, and we expect the same in Week 3. On Sunday at 1 PM ET, the Patriots will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the Jets. After the devastating injury to Aaron Rodgers against the Bills, the Jets were able to pull out the win in overtime of Week 1. However, the Jets came back down to earth a bit this past weekend in their loss to Dallas.

The Cowboys dominated the Jets in all aspects of the game in the 30-10 beatdown. On the other side, New England is off to a slow 0-2 start, in which they’ve lost heartbreakers to the Eagles and Dolphins. The Patriots have shown great fight against these two very talented teams, and they’ll look to pick up their first win this weekend in New York.

Keep reading for our experts’ Patriots vs. Jets best bets, as well as some Patriots vs. Jets game props. Also, we will be directing you to DraftKings Sportsbook where new users can receive an unbelievable offer.

New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Prediction for NFL Week 3 on Sunday, 9/24

There’s no question that the AFC East rivalry between the Patriots and Jets is still alive and well. It’s not often that these teams square off with the Jets in front of the Patriots in the standings, but that will be the case this Sunday. On Sunday Night Football, the Patriots spotted the Dolphins multiple scores, just like they did in week one against the Eagles. This is clearly an issue for the Pats, as they’ve clawed all the way back in both of their two losses, just to turn the ball over on downs on their final drive.

This week, the Patriots will look to get an early lead and finally establish dominance early. Mac Jones has been respectable thus far, as he went 31/42 passing for 231 yards on Sunday. His offensive line has been struggling and not giving him enough time to operate. We expect the offensive line to take a leap in the right direction this week in New York. On top of the line struggling, the Patriots had an uncharacteristic fumble by Demario Douglas and a bad interception which both proved to be costly. Ball security will be a huge point of emphasis this week for Bill Belichick and the Patriots.

On the other side, we have a Jets team that has to be a bit discouraged as they realize just how important the loss of Rodgers is going to be. Zach Wilson threw three interceptions in Dallas on Sunday, as he was just 12/27 passing for a total of 170 yards. The Cowboys took full advantage of these mistakes and blew them out 30-10. Garret Wilson was the only bright spot for New York’s offense, as he had 83 yards receiving, including a 41-yard touchdown catch. The Patriots’ defense will likely try to shut down Garret Wilson and pressure Zach Wilson in the pocket to force turnovers.

Our experts predict that the Patriots will finally be able to score first in this game, and Belichick will draw up a strong defensive game plan to limit this Jets offense that was only able to rush for a total of 64 yards last week. If the Pats can keep the Jets under 20 points, we believe they can outlast this Jets team and win somewhat comfortably at Metlife.

Patriots vs. Jets NFL Picks Including Patriots Money Line (-142) and Patriots Team Total Points Over 19.5 (-108) at DraftKings Sportsbook

As we stated previously, we’re rolling with the Patriots money line (-142 at DraftKings) in Sunday’s game. The Patriots have shown that they can hang with some of the best teams in the league, and the Jets are certainly not a top team as long as they don’t have Aaron Rodgers.

Defensively, the Patriots have shown glimmers of greatness as Cristian Gonzalez was able to get his first interception on Sunday. He’ll likely take a lot of snaps against Garret Wilson and should be able to limit the Jets’ best weapon. On top of the Patriots’ money line, we also want to take a shot at the Patriots’ Team Total Points Over 19.5.

New England was able to score 20 against a great Eagles defense in Week 1, and we believe they’ll need to score 20+ on Sunday to beat the Jets. As long as the Patriots secure the football, they should be able to put up at least three touchdowns against this Jets defense.

Patriots Injury Report Following Week 2

Following week 2, there hasn’t been much change to the Patriots injury report. Marcus Jones injured his shoulder Sunday and didn’t return to the game. He is currently listed as questionable, and we’ll see how much he participates in practice throughout the week.

Also, the Patriots desperately need their linemen back this week. Trent Brown and Sidy Sow remain questionable at the moment. There are high hopes that the Patriots line will be back to full strength on Sunday.
